BromBeck HC are looking to recruit an experienced individual to be our new Ladies 1st Team Coach. The Ladies 1st team are currently in a turnaround phase, having narrowly missed out on promotion to the National League in 2016, they have recently been relegated out of the East Premier League. You will help us turn this around and propel our Ladies back into the National League, supported by a wider club development strategy.
BromBeck HC is one of the oldest and proudest hockey clubs in the UK, following the merger at the start of the 2005/6 season, we have been a consistently high performing club, with our men’s 1st team spending 9 years in the national league and recently reaching the semi-finals of the National Cup. We have aspirations for both our Men’s and Ladies 1st teams to be consistent performing at this level. We have 9 adult men’s and 6 adult ladies teams. We are a very sociable club with an active events programme.
The Ladies First Team Coach Role
The Ladies 1st Team Coach is responsible for ensuring the high performance of the Ladies 1st Team, supporting the Ladies 2nd Team and supporting the development of High Performance Juniors.
The Ladies 1st team coach will be expected to deliver enjoyable and productive midweek training sessions for the Ladies 1st and Ladies 2nd team. Bringing fresh ideas to these sessions that develop the areas required to improve performance based on weekend analysis. You will be expected to all home games and travel with the team to away games.
You will also be expected to support our junior training programme one evening a week (usually before training) and support our Sunday training programme on a regular basis.
You will need to have strong interpersonal skills to work with a team that has been established for a number of years. You also be expected to help with recruitment.
Required: England Hockey Coach Qualification (or Level 2 equivalent). DBS checks, first aid training and child protection training will need to be undertaken.
Desired: England Hockey Advanced Coach Programme (or Level 3 equivalent), other relevant qualifications.
